Slac Recognition of Congressional Award
Zichen(Sarah) Xiang, the founder of SLAC Club, has been actively engaged in community service, contributing more than 500 volunteer hours. She served for two consecutive years as Co-President of the Eastvale Kiwanis Youth Group, leading nearly 400 volunteers in organizing around 100 community events.
At the same time, Sarah founded SLAC Club, uniting nearly 30 high school students from six schools to serve the Eastvale community. Alongside her service work, she has also participated in scientific, athletic, and artistic competitions.
In recognition of her achievements, Sarah was awarded the Congressional Award Silver Medal by Congresswoman Norma Torres (CA-35) on April 13, 2025. She will apply for the Gold Medal in August.
The ceremony was covered by the World Journal in its LA Events section on April 17, 2025. Sarah continues to encourage and mentor SLAC members, inspiring them to work diligently toward achieving similar awards and honors.
